Joel on Indian, Lake Mirage. Prints to benefit Shorthand, Highland Park, CA.
We wanted to do what little we can as small independent business owners to help other local small independent business owners. We know how difficult it might be for someone to be thinking about buying art right now but know that ALL THE PROCEEDS from the sales of the prints will go directly to the local business owners. And you get something nice to hang up and remind you that you played a part in helping someone else make it through these trying times.
Multiple prints and sizes available below. Printed on 100% archival Hahnemühle FineArt paper and signed by us.
This photo is of our old pal Joel Kvernmo testing out one of the "prop" motorcycles (vintage Indians) before one of our photoshoots in Lake Mirage. We had to drive out onto the ndry lake bed in the middle of the night to set up because you can realistically only shoot until noon since the temperatures reach into the 120s. This was taken minutes after sunrise. If I remember correctly Joel dumped one of these turning around and felt horrible about it all day. Joel used to work on our shoots as art department for years and always brought so much energy and a ton of laughs. I actually don't think I ever saw him not smiling. Joel passed away in 2019 leaving behind his wife and beautiful daughter.
Joel and his wife Rosanna opened up Shorthand (@shopshorthand),
a greeting card/print shop/ office supply store on York Blvd in Highland Park, in 2016 with the printing business being around much longer. Rosanna still runs the store and we wanted to sell this photo to help her out a little in these trying times. We miss you Joel and your Boss karaoke skills.
This is a panoramic photo so the paper should be cut to size as preferred when framing.
Multiple prints available from 5x7" - 30x40" (Larger sizes are limited to 10). Printed on 100% archival Pearl paper. Signed and ready to be framed (hopefully locally). Prints can be mailed or picked up in Maplewood, NJ.
